A cool, bright and lively evening in my dream
Buzzing with sounds of music, horn of cars
And chitchats of men, women including children
I realized a hand led me through an organized party
Filled with all manners of status of human beings
Dignitaries I don’t know
Friends I referred to as friends
Friends I don’t refer to as friends
Everyone was eating and drinking, but was not smiling
That got me wondering with the thought of
“What’s the cause of this type of celebration?”
I wandered through this party with that hand holding and leading me
I got to the extreme of the party, the grass was so green ahead of me
I was about asking question of my purpose in that spot
When I heard a voice calling out to me, I turned around but couldn’t find the person.
I ignored, since have always been told
“Do not ever answer if you did not see the person”
I turned back and saw two men walking towards me
They walked passed me without uttering a word
After few seconds, they stopped and I couldn’t see them again
I heard the voice again loud and clear, I turned to where the sound was coming from but couldn’t see the face of the person calling out to me
The voice said “Tonight, you will die”
Have never been that frightened in my entire life
It felt so real and believable as if have known before
I felt a tear dropped from my eyes, before I could lift my head up, my eyes have been soaked
I said to myself “Is this really my last day on earth?”
It’s not the news of the death that got me scared and crying
But the thought of my mum, as if she has no other children. Everything around me started getting static like an electromagnetic field.
I turned back and realized how far I am from people behind me
I started praying to God, pls consider my mum, she has no one except me
I haven’t fulfill any of my promises to her, pls consider those am destined to help or through me be successful and elevated
Pls, consider me and elongate my life span cos of people looking up to me as a beacon of hope
I have no legacy yet, pls consider me.
I felt no response was forthcoming but I couldn’t stop myself from praying
I ran into an open building and kept praying, crying and wailing
A lady came to serve me food and she said “This is your last supper”
Despite how yummy the food seemed to be, I couldn’t touch the food.
I kept praying, got to a certain point I was seeking for the death to have mercy
Death came around in form of a lady with her hair barbed
The lady that served me food joined me in begging death to have mercy
But she declined and said when the exact time comes, I will see her
The lady looked at me with eyes full of compassion but uttered no word.
Yet, I didn’t stop praying to God to elongate my life.
I woke up with the same prayer point on my lips
Praying to God to elongate my life.
A dream of death I had!!
